## Biography

Stanley Andrews was an American actor. He worked in stock theatre early in his career, including a season of weekly plays in Minneapolis in 1916. Between 1931 and 1936 he provided the voice of Daddy Warbucks on the radio series Little Orphan Annie.

Andrews appeared in more than 250 films, often in uncredited or supporting roles. These included James Cedar in Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936), Mr. Welch in It's a Wonderful Life (1946), Senator Hodges in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), and roles in You Can't Take It with You (1938), The Ox-Bow Incident (1943), Meet John Doe (1941) and The Mark of Zorro (1940). From 1952 he hosted the western anthology series Death Valley Days as the Old Ranger, appearing in hundreds of episodes until 1964.
