## Biography

Stanley Sopel was a British film producer. He worked as associate producer on several early entries in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, beginning with *Dr. No* (1962). He received on-screen credit as associate producer on *On Her Majesty's Secret Service* (1969) and *Diamonds Are Forever* (1971), and held the same role, often uncredited, on *From Russia with Love* (1963), *Goldfinger* (1964), *Thunderball* (1965), *You Only Live Twice* (1967) and *Chitty Chitty Bang Bang* (1968).

Sopel collaborated closely with producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, managing day-to-day production matters on the Bond films. He later served as associate producer on *The Wilby Conspiracy* (1975) and as executive producer on the children's television series *Wizbit* (1986–1988). Born in Holborn, London, on 11 October 1924, he died in London on 23 October 2007.
