Stephen Collins is an American former actor. He was born on 1 October 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated cum laude from Amherst College.

Collins is known for playing Eric Camden on the television series *7th Heaven* (1996–2007) and Commander Willard Decker in *Star Trek: The Motion Picture* (1979). His film roles include Hugh Sloan in *All the President's Men* (1976), Aaron Paradis in *The First Wives Club* (1996), Ambassador Walker in *Blood Diamond* (2006) and Mr Harter in *The Three Stooges* (2012). He also appeared in *Brewster's Millions* (1985) and *Because I Said So* (2007).

His acting career ended in 2014 after he confessed to sexual abuse against multiple minors.
