## Biography

Stephen Lack is a Canadian actor and painter. Born in Montreal, he studied psychology at McGill University and sculpture at the Universidad de Guanajuato in Mexico before moving into film and visual art.

He is known for leading roles in David Cronenberg's *Scanners* (1981) as Cameron Vale and *Dead Ringers* (1988) as Anders Wolleck, as well as appearances in *The Rubber Gun* (1977), which he co-wrote, *All the Vermeers in New York* (1990) and *Between the Temples* (2024). Lack received Genie Award nominations for his performance and screenplay on *The Rubber Gun*.

As a painter, Lack works primarily in a Neo-Expressionist style and has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Canada Council for the Arts. His paintings are held in collections including the Brooklyn Museum.
