He was born on 17 February 1969 in Santa Clara County, California, and graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1991. Mirrione began his career editing early features for director Doug Liman. He has had a long collaboration with Steven Soderbergh, editing *Traffic* (2000), for which he won an Academy Award, as well as *Ocean's Eleven* (2001), *Ocean's Twelve* (2004), *Ocean's Thirteen* (2007), *The Informant!* (2009) and *Contagion* (2011).
