## Biography

Stephen Phelps is an American production designer. He is known for his work on the film *Anora* (2024), directed by Sean Baker.

Originally from South Glens Falls, New York, Phelps attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He began making experimental short films and music videos as a child with his brothers and friends. For around 15 years he has worked in the art department on independent films with small budgets, initially as a property master on titles including *Good Time* (2017) and *It Comes at Night* (2017).

On *Anora* he collaborated with his brother Christopher Phelps, who served as set decorator, and art director Ryan Fitzgerald. He has also worked as production designer on *Notice to Quit* (2024) and *Splitsville* (2025).
