## Biography

Stephen Wertimer (also credited as Steve Wertimer) is an American production manager, producer and director. He began his career in the early 1980s as a DGA trainee and second assistant director on films including *They All Laughed* (1981), *Eddie and the Cruisers* (1983) and *Moonstruck* (1987).

Wertimer worked extensively on the *Law & Order* franchise. He served as first assistant director on 64 episodes of *Law & Order* (1996–2005), unit production manager on 55 episodes (2002–2010), and co-producer or producer on 82 episodes (2006–2010). He also directed four episodes of *Law & Order* (1999–2001) and two episodes of *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit* (2000–2001). Other credits include first assistant director on *The Ice Storm* (1997) and production roles on series such as *New Amsterdam* (2018–2021).
