## Biography

Steve Brown (25 October 1954 – 2 February 2024) was a British composer, lyricist, arranger and record producer. He appeared on screen as the put-upon bandleader Glenn Ponder in the BBC comedy series *Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge* (1994) and composed its music.

Brown wrote many songs for *Spitting Image* and served as its house composer and musical director. He collaborated extensively with Steve Coogan, Rory Bremner and Harry Hill, composed for series including *Not Going Out*, *Dead Ringers* and Ant & Dec programmes, and co-wrote the stage musical *Spend Spend Spend* (1998).
