Steve Carr is an American film director, producer and former music video director. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he studied fine arts at the School of Visual Arts on a full scholarship and co-founded the design firm The Drawing Board, creating album artwork for Def Jam Recordings artists including the Beastie Boys and Public Enemy. He later directed music videos for artists such as Jay-Z before moving into feature films.

Carr made his directorial debut with the comedy *Next Friday* (2000). He subsequently directed *Dr. Dolittle 2* (2001), *Daddy Day Care* (2003), *Rebound* (2005), *Are We Done Yet?* (2007), *Paul Blart: Mall Cop* (2009) and *Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life* (2016). He directed a segment of the anthology film *Movie 43* (2013) and the Disney Channel television film *Freaky Friday* (2018).
