Steve Evets is an English actor and musician. Born Steven Murphy on 26 July 1959 in Salford, Lancashire, he took the stage name Evets, a palindrome of his first name, after another Steve Murphy was already registered with Equity.

He is known for his leading role as Eric Bishop in Ken Loach's 2009 film *Looking for Eric*. Other film credits include *Summer* (2008), *Robin Hood* (2010), *Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides* (2011), *Wuthering Heights* (2011), *Anna Karenina* (2012) and *The Man with the Iron Heart* (2017). Television roles include Colin in the series *Rev.* (2010–2014), appearances in *Life on Mars* (2007), *Death in Paradise* (2015) and recurring work as Jim in *Brassic* (from 2019).

Evets has also performed as a musician, including with the band The Fall.
