## Biography

Steve 'Lips' Kudlow is a Canadian musician, the lead vocalist and guitarist of the heavy metal band Anvil. He co-founded the band with drummer Robb Reiner in Toronto, having played together since 1973; the group was initially known as Lips before renaming itself Anvil in 1981.

Kudlow and the band are the subject of the 2008 documentary film *Anvil! The Story of Anvil*, directed by Sacha Gervasi. In the film he appears as himself, performing as lead guitarist. The documentary brought renewed attention to the band, which had released the influential album *Metal on Metal* in 1982.
