## Biography

Steve Marmel is an American television writer, producer and former stand-up comedian. Born on 17 December 1964 in Lincolnwood, Illinois, he began performing comedy at the age of 18. He was discovered in 1996 by a Hanna-Barbera executive while performing in Los Angeles and hired as a writer for *Johnny Bravo*.

Marmel has written for numerous animated series, including *Family Guy* (1999 and 2013–14), *The Fairly OddParents* (2001–06, where he frequently collaborated with Butch Hartman), *Danny Phantom* (2004–07) and *Cow and Chicken*. He created the live-action series *Sonny with a Chance* (2009–11) and *So Random!* (2011–12), as well as the animated series *Mech-X4* (2016). He studied journalism at the University of Wisconsin and has received Emmy and Annie Award nominations for his writing and producing work.
