## Biography

Steve Meerson is an American screenwriter and producer. He is best known for co-writing the screenplay for *Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home* (1986) with his long-time writing partner Peter Krikes. The pair received first-position screenplay credit from the Writers Guild of America.

A fourth-generation Los Angeles native, Meerson attended UCLA and UC San Diego before graduating from USC's Graduate School of Cinematic Arts. He worked in finance before selling his first script, co-written with Krikes, to Disney. His other credited screenplays include *Back to the Beach* (1987), *Double Impact* (1991) and *Anna and the King* (1999). He has also undertaken uncredited rewrites on films such as *Summer School* (1987) and *Red Heat* (1988). Meerson received a Saturn Award nomination for his work on *Star Trek IV*.
