Steve Murphy (born Stephen M. Clancey; 25 December 1876 – 31 January 1953) was an American character actor of the silent-film era, also credited as Broken Nose Murphy. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and died in California.

Murphy began working in California studios around 1915 as a property man before moving into acting. He appeared in numerous uncredited or minor roles, often as henchmen, conmen or tough characters, in films including *Sherlock Jr.* (1924), *The Gold Rush* (1925), *The Circus* (1928), *Cops* (1922) and *The Battle of the Century* (1927). He is noted as the only actor of the period to work with Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and Laurel and Hardy.
