Steve Oedekerk is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He began his career as a stand-up comedian and writer on the television series *In Living Color* (1990–1994), where he collaborated with Jim Carrey.

Oedekerk wrote the screenplay for *Bruce Almighty* (2003). His other screenwriting credits include *Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls* (1995), *The Nutty Professor* (1996), *Patch Adams* (1998), *Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius* (2001) and *Evan Almighty* (2007). He also wrote the story for *Cowboys & Aliens* (2011). He directed *Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls*, *Kung Pow: Enter the Fist* (2002) and *Barnyard* (2006). Oedekerk received an Academy Award nomination for best animated feature for *Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius*.
