## Biography

Steve Shill is a British television and film director, producer, screenwriter and actor. He trained at Leeds University in fine art and began in experimental theatre as a member of Impact Theatre Co-operative before completing the BBC Drama Director's Course.

He directed episodes of British series including *EastEnders* and *Casualty*, then moved to the United States where his credits include *The Sopranos* (1999), *The Wire* (2002), *Deadwood* (2004, for which he was also a writer), *The West Wing* (1999), *Dexter* and *The Tudors*. He won a Primetime Emmy for directing an episode of *Dexter* and received a Writers Guild of America nomination for his work on *Deadwood*. His feature film directorial debut was *Obsessed* (2009).
