## Biography

Steve Skrovan is an American writer, producer and former stand-up comedian. Born on 4 March 1957, he grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Yale University with a degree in English in 1979.

He began his career performing stand-up comedy before moving into television writing and production. Skrovan contributed to *Seinfeld* as a programme consultant and co-wrote the episode "The Movie" (1993). He then served as a writer and producer on *Everybody Loves Raymond* throughout its nine-season run from 1996 to 2005, earning two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series. His other credits include writing for *'Til Death*, *The War at Home* and *Hot in Cleveland*, as well as co-writing, producing and directing the 2006 documentary *An Unreasonable Man* about Ralph Nader.
