Steven Baum (5 November 1951 – 7 February 2018) was an American television writer and producer. He contributed the teleplay for the *Star Trek: Deep Space Nine* episode 'Melora' (1993).

Baum wrote extensively for series including *The Young Riders* (1989–1992), for which he also served as producer and story editor; *In the Heat of the Night* (1989–1990); *Lonesome Dove: The Series* (1994–1996); *Hercules: The Legendary Journeys* (1996); *Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman* (1996); *The Sentinel* (1996); *Silk Stalkings* (1994); and *The Adventures of Sinbad* (1997). He began his career writing for shows such as *Rags to Riches*.
