## Biography

Steven Velema, known professionally as Surasshu, is a Dutch electronic musician, composer and sound designer. He forms the composition duo Aivi & Surasshu with pianist Aivi Tran.

The duo composed the instrumental score for the animated series *Steven Universe* (2013–2019), its film *Steven Universe: The Movie* (2019) and the sequel series *Steven Universe Future* (2019–2020). They also produced several of the show's vocal songs in collaboration with creator Rebecca Sugar. Velema has worked on numerous video games, both independently and in collaboration.
