## Biography

Stuart Howell was a British cinematographer and camera operator. He worked in film and television for over twenty years, initially as an 'A' camera and Steadicam operator on titles including *Under the Skin* (2013), *Kingsman: The Secret Service* (2014) and *The Legend of Tarzan* (2016).

Howell contributed to *The Crown* (2016) as camera operator, Steadicam operator and for additional photography on the first season, later serving as director of photography on episodes across subsequent seasons. His other cinematography credits include *The Peripheral* (2022), *A Small Light* (2023) and episodes of *Catherine the Great* (2019) and *Cursed* (2020). He was nominated for a BSC Award for Best Cinematography for the *The Crown* episode 'Misadventure'.

Howell died on 14 July 2024.
