## Biography

Sue Gibson (8 November 1952 – 27 July 2016) was a British cinematographer. She graduated from the National Film and Television School in 1981 and began her career as a clapper loader before becoming a director of photography in 1983, initially working in commercials.

Her first feature film was *Hear My Song* (1991), directed by Peter Chelsom. She went on to photograph *Mrs Dalloway* (1997), *The Forsyte Saga* (2002) and episodes of *Spooks*. In 1992 she became the first female member of the British Society of Cinematographers; she later served as its first female president from 2008 to 2010.
