Sue Herring was an American television writer. She received writing credits on four episodes of the series *Cheers* between 1988 and 1992. She also wrote episodes of *The Tracey Ullman Show* (1987, as Susan Herring), *Almost Perfect* (1995–1997), *Becker* (1998) and *Throb* (1987).

Herring worked in additional crew roles on *Cheers* from 1984 to 1993, including as story editor and assistant to the producers. She began in assistant positions on series such as *Taxi* (1982–1983) and *Shaping Up* (1984). She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her writing on *The Tracey Ullman Show*.
