## Biography

Sue Lyon was an American actress. Born in Davenport, Iowa, she began working as a child model and made early television appearances in series such as Dennis the Menace and The Loretta Young Show before being cast at the age of 14 as Dolores 'Lolita' Haze in Stanley Kubrick's 1962 film adaptation of Vladimir Nabokov's novel.

Her performance in *Lolita* brought her a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female. She subsequently appeared in films including *The Night of the Iguana* (1964), *7 Women* (1966) and *Tony Rome* (1967), as well as television series such as *Fantasy Island* and *Night Gallery*. Her final screen credit was in the 1980 film *Alligator*.
