## Biography

Susan Cartsonis is an American film producer. She graduated with a BA in theatre from UCLA and an MFA in dramatic writing from NYU in 1984. Before producing, she spent nearly a decade as a studio executive at 20th Century Fox, rising to Senior Vice President of Production and supervising more than twenty films.

Cartsonis began her producing career with *Firelight* (1997). She produced *What Women Want* (2000) and *Where the Heart Is* (2000), for which The Hollywood Reporter named her one of the top five grossing producers of the year. Other credits include *Aquamarine* (2006), *Beastly* (2011), *The DUFF* (2015) and *Carrie Pilby* (2016). In 2016 she co-founded Resonate Entertainment with Suzanne Farwell and Brent Emery, focusing on female-driven stories.

Later productions include *Feel the Beat* (2020), *True Spirit* (2023) and *Sitting in Bars with Cake* (2023). She serves on boards including The Writer’s Lab and teaches at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
