## Biography

Susan Sackett is an American author and screenwriter. She was born on 18 December 1943 in New York City and raised in Connecticut and Florida. She earned a BA and an MEd from the University of Florida, taught elementary school for two years, and later worked as a publicity assistant and commercial coordinator at NBC before entering the entertainment industry full time.

In 1974 she became the personal executive assistant to Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, a role she held for over 17 years until his death in 1991. She served as production assistant on Star Trek: The Motion Picture and worked on the subsequent five Star Trek films. She was production associate on the first five seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) and, with writing partner Fred Bronson, received story and teleplay credits on episodes including 'Ménage à Troi' and 'The Game'.

Sackett has written several books on Star Trek and related subjects, among them Letters to Star Trek (1977), Star Trek Speaks! (1979) and The Making of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1980, with Roddenberry).
