## Biography

Sydney Walker (5 May 1921 – 30 September 1994) was an American character actor of stage and screen and a voice artist. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he made his Broadway debut in 1960 as the Archbishop of Canterbury in the original production of Jean Anouilh's *Becket*. He appeared in numerous Broadway productions through the early 1970s, including a Tony Award nomination for featured actor in *The Wild Duck* (1967), and was a principal member of the APA–Phoenix Repertory Company.

Walker's film roles include Dr. Shapeley in *Love Story* (1970), the Old Man in *Prelude to a Kiss* (1992), the Bus Driver in *Mrs. Doubtfire* (1993) and Mr. Wankmueller in *Getting Even with Dad* (1994). He also provided voice characterisation as Deej in *The Ewok Adventure* (1984) and *Ewoks: The Battle for Endor* (1985). Later in his career he performed with the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
