## Biography

Sylvie Pialat is a French producer and screenwriter. Born Sylvie Françoise Danton on 9 June 1960 in Paris, she began her career in film working with director Maurice Pialat, whom she later married; she co-wrote the screenplays for three of his films under the name Sylvie Danton.

She founded the production company Les Films du Worso and has produced numerous features since the mid-2000s. Her credits include *Stranger by the Lake* (2013), *Timbuktu* (2014), *Les Misérables* (2019) and *Robot Dreams* (2023). Pialat has received the Daniel Toscan du Plantier award twice and a César for best film as producer of *Timbuktu*.
