## Biography

Tadeusz Kwiatkowski (also credited as Noël Randon) was a Polish writer, satirist and screenwriter. Born in Kraków in 1920, he studied Polish literature and art history at the Jagiellonian University. During the Second World War he co-edited an underground literary magazine and was imprisoned by the Gestapo in 1944–45.

He wrote novels, satirical works and crime fiction under the pseudonym Noël Randon. As a screenwriter he contributed to films including *The Saragossa Manuscript* (1965), directed by Wojciech Jerzy Has, and *The Hourglass Sanatorium* (1973). He also wrote for the television series *Janosik* (1974). Kwiatkowski contributed regularly to Kraków newspapers and periodicals as a columnist and theatre critic, and was a longstanding member of the city’s literary community. He died in Kraków in 2007.
