## Biography

Terry Ackland-Snow is a British production designer and art director. Born on 12 December 1943 in London, he began his career in the 1960s as a junior draughtsman and progressed through art department roles on numerous films and television productions.

He is credited as art director or supervising art director on films including *The Rocky Horror Picture Show* (1975), *Superman II* (1980), *The Dark Crystal* (1982), *Aliens* (1986), *The Living Daylights* (1987) and *Batman* (1989). He served as production designer on *Spies Like Us* (1985) and several television series such as *Inspector Morse* (1990–1993). Ackland-Snow founded Film Design International to provide training in art direction and draughtsmanship, and has served as chairman of the British Film Designers Guild.
