## Biography

Terry McDonell is an American writer and magazine editor. He wrote teleplays for two episodes of the television series *Miami Vice* (1985 and 1988) and an episode of *China Beach* (1988). He also wrote the 1992 video game *Night Trap*.

McDonell has edited numerous magazines, including *Rolling Stone*, *Sports Illustrated*, *Esquire* and *Outside*. He is the author of the memoirs *The Accidental Life* (2016) and *Irma: The Education of a Mother's Son* (2023), as well as the novel *California Bloodstock*. He co-founded the Literary Hub website in 2015.
