Terry Moore is an American actress. Born Helen Luella Koford on 7 January 1929 in Los Angeles, California, she began her career as a child model and made her film debut at the age of 11 in *Maryland* (1940). She worked under several names, including Judy Ford and Jan Ford, before adopting the stage name Terry Moore in 1948.

Moore appeared in numerous films during the 1940s and 1950s. She gained recognition for her role in *Mighty Joe Young* (1949) and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for *Come Back, Little Sheba* (1952). She played Betty Anderson in *Peyton Place* (1957). In later decades she asserted that she had been secretly married to Howard Hughes.
