Tetsuya Watanabe (渡邊 哲哉) is a Japanese anime director, episode director and storyboard artist.

He directed episodes of *Neon Genesis Evangelion* (1995) and *Cowboy Bebop* (1998). He has also directed episodes for *The Big O* (1999), *Fairy Tail* (2009), *Monster* (2004), *Oreimo* (2010) and *Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches* (2015), among many others, and served as series director on *After War Gundam X* (1996).
