He is known for his frequent collaborations with director Jacques Audiard. He received the César Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2010 for *A Prophet* (2009), shared with Audiard and others, and the César for Best Adaptation in 2013 for *Rust and Bone* (2012) and in 2024 for *Emilia Pérez*, both also shared with Audiard. His other screenwriting credits include *Dheepan* (2015), *Saint Laurent* (2014) and *The Sisters Brothers* (2018). Bidegain made his directorial debut with *The Cowboys* (*Les Cowboys*, 2015), which premiered in the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival.
