Jackson (1886–1967) was an American stage and screen actor. He began his career with juvenile roles on Broadway from 1899, later working steadily in theatre from 1917. His stage work included a notable performance as the detective Dan McCorn in the 1926 hit *Broadway*. Jackson reprised the role in the 1929 film adaptation, which led to a film career lasting until 1966. He appeared in over 130 films, frequently in supporting roles as detectives, police officers or reporters. These included Sgt. Flaherty in *Little Caesar* (1931), a reporter in *The Thin Man* (1934), Inspector Jackson in *The Woman in the Window* (1944) and uncredited parts in *Scarlet Street* (1945) and *Dead End* (1937).
