Thomas Jefferson Byrd (25 June 1950 – 3 October 2020) was an American actor. Born in Griffin, Georgia, he earned a B.S. in education from Morris Brown College and an M.F.A. in modern dance from the California Institute of the Arts. He began his screen career in the mid-1990s and appeared in several films directed by Spike Lee.

Byrd's film credits include *Clockers* (1995) as Errol Barnes, *He Got Game* (1998), *Bamboozled* (2000), *Ray* (2004), *Brooklyn's Finest* (2010) and *Chi-Raq* (2015). On stage he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for the 2003 Broadway revival of *Ma Rainey's Black Bottom*.
