## Biography

Thomas M. Wright is an Australian actor, writer, director and producer. Born on 22 June 1983 in Melbourne, Victoria, he is the co-founder and director of the theatre company Black Lung, established in 2006.

As an actor he appeared in the Disney Channel films *Stepsister from Planet Weird* (2000) and *Zenon: The Zequel* (2001). He played Johnno Mitcham in Jane Campion’s series *Top of the Lake* (2013), for which he received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards. Other acting credits include *The Bridge* (2013–2014), *Everest* (2015), *Outsiders* (2016–2017), *Sweet Country* (2018) and *Sleeping Dogs* (2024).

Wright directed the feature films *Acute Misfortune* (2019) and *The Stranger* (2022), the latter of which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
