## Biography

Tim Wylton, also credited as Timothy Higginson, is a British actor born on 27 February 1940 in Bangor-on-Dee, Wales. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and appeared in Franco Zeffirelli's 1961 Old Vic production of *Romeo and Juliet*. He was a mainstay of the Royal Shakespeare Company from 1963 to 1977.

Wylton has appeared in numerous British television series. His credits include Smiler in *Minder* (1979), Lol Ferris in *As Time Goes By* (1996–2002), Stanley Dawkins in *My Hero* (2000–2006), Mr Gardiner in *Pride and Prejudice* (1995), and roles in *Agatha Christie's Poirot*, *Midsomer Murders*, *A Touch of Frost*, *Absolutely Fabulous* and *All Creatures Great and Small*. He is the father of actor Huw Higginson.
