Tom Baker is an English actor. He trained at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama and joined the National Theatre company in 1968. His first major film role was as Grigori Rasputin in *Nicholas and Alexandra* (1971).

Baker is best known for playing the Fourth Doctor in the BBC series *Doctor Who* from 1974 to 1981, the longest tenure in the role. Other credits include *The Golden Voyage of Sinbad* (1973), *Blackadder* (1983) and narration for *Little Britain* (2003). He has also appeared in audio dramas and made a cameo in *Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor* (2013).
