## Biography

Tom Benko is an American editor, writer and director who has worked extensively in television. He is credited as editor on numerous episodes of *Star Trek: The Next Generation* (1987–1992), *Star Trek: Deep Space Nine* (1993–1994) and *Star Trek: Voyager* (1995–2001). He also wrote the stories for the *Deep Space Nine* episodes "The House of Quark" (1994) and "Return to Grace" (1996).

Benko directed two episodes of *Star Trek: The Next Generation*: "Transfigurations" (1990) and "Devil's Due" (1991). He is the only individual to have written, directed and edited episodes within the *Star Trek* franchise. His other editing credits include episodes of *MacGyver* (1985) and earlier work on series such as *Police Squad!* (1982) and *The Fall Guy* (1981). He began his career in the industry with assistant editing and second-unit directing roles on shows including *Battlestar Galactica* (1978).
