## Biography

Tom Donaghy is an American writer, producer and director who works in theatre, television and film. He began his career as a playwright, with productions at venues including Atlantic Theater Company, Playwrights Horizons, Lincoln Center Theater and South Coast Repertory. His plays include *The Beginning of August*, *Minutes from the Blue Route*, *Northeast Local* and *Down the Shore*; a collection was published by Grove Press.

In film and television, Donaghy wrote and directed the feature *Story of a Bad Boy* (1999). He created the ABC series *The Whole Truth* (2010) and co-created the Fox musical drama *Star* (2016–2019) with Lee Daniels. He also wrote episodes of *Without a Trace*, *Fairly Legal* and *The Mentalist* (2014–2015), on which he served as co-executive producer.
