Tom Ellis is a Welsh actor. He was born Thomas John Ellis on 17 November 1978 in Cardiff and trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow.

Ellis first gained recognition for his role as Dr Oliver Cousins in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. He became widely known for playing Gary Preston in the BBC sitcom Miranda (2009–2015) and Lucifer Morningstar in the series Lucifer (2016–2021). Other credits include Thomas Milligan in Doctor Who (2005) and Robin Hood in Once Upon a Time (2011). He played Jason in the 2025 film The Thursday Murder Club.
