## Biography

Tom Lau Moon-Tong, also credited as Lau Moon-Tong, Lau Mun-Tong and Tom M. T. Lau, is a Hong Kong cinematographer. He began working as a camera assistant in the mid-1970s at Salon Films under Australian cinematographer Ross Bluck and advanced to director of photography in 1978 with *The Contract*.

His credits include *A Chinese Ghost Story* (1987), for which he shared a Hong Kong Film Award nomination for Best Cinematography, *Dragon Inn* (1992), also nominated, *Tai-Chi Master* (1993), *The Heroic Trio* (1993), *Last Hero in China* (1993) and *The Bodyguard from Beijing* (1994). He has worked frequently with directors such as Ching Siu-tung and Tsui Hark. In 1984 he directed and wrote the horror film *The Rape After* (also known as *Devil Fetus 2*).

Lau was active through the 1990s and has since stepped back from feature films.
