## Biography

Tom MacRae is an English screenwriter, playwright, lyricist and television producer. He wrote the two-part story 'Rise of the Cybermen' and 'The Age of Steel' for the 2006 series of *Doctor Who*, and the 2011 episode 'The Girl Who Waited'.

His other television writing includes episodes of *Agatha Christie's Marple*, *Lewis*, *Bonekickers* and *Casualty*. He created and wrote the Comedy Central series *Threesome* (2011–2012) and contributed to *The Librarians* (2014) as writer and co-executive producer. He was nominated for a BAFTA for the 2002 series *Off Limits: School's Out*.

MacRae wrote the book and lyrics for the stage musical *Everybody's Talking About Jamie*, which received an Olivier nomination, and adapted it for the 2021 film version, for which he also wrote additional songs.
