## Biography

Tom Moore is an American theatre, television and film director. Born on 6 August 1943 in Meridian, Mississippi, he earned a BA in theatre from Purdue University and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.

Moore began his career directing stage productions and made his Broadway debut with the original production of *Grease* in 1972. His other Broadway credits include *Over Here!* (1974) and *'night, Mother* (1983). He directed the 1986 film adaptation of *'night, Mother*.

In television he has directed episodes of numerous series, including *Cheers* (1982), *thirtysomething* (1987), *The Wonder Years* (1988), *Northern Exposure* (1990), *ER* (1994) and *Gilmore Girls* (2000). He received Emmy nominations for his work on *L.A. Law*, *ER* and *Mad About You*.
