## Biography

Tom Wright is an American actor and occasional director. Born Harold Thomas Wright on 29 November 1952 in Englewood, New Jersey, he began his career in theatre as an original member of the People's Light and Theater Company and appeared in numerous stage productions on and off Broadway.

Wright has worked extensively in film and television. He has appeared in several films directed by John Sayles, including *Matewan* (1987), *City of Hope* (1991), *Passion Fish* (1992), *Sunshine State* (2002) and *Honeydripper* (2007). Other notable film roles include parts in *Creepshow 2* (1987), *Barbershop* (2002) and *Barbershop 2: Back in Business* (2004). On television he is known for recurring appearances in *Seinfeld* as Mr Morgan and guest roles in series including *House*, *The Mentalist*, *Grimm*, *The Rookie* and *NCIS*, in which he also directed an episode. He won the Best Actor award at the Santa Monica Film Festival in 2000 for *Dumbarton Bridge*.
