## Biography

Tommy Morrison was an American actor and professional boxer. He played the role of Tommy 'Machine' Gunn, a promising young boxer trained by Rocky Balboa, in the 1990 film *Rocky V*.

Born in Gravette, Arkansas, Morrison turned professional in boxing in 1988 and won the vacant WBO heavyweight title in 1993 after defeating George Foreman. He also appeared uncredited in *They Live* (1988) and in an episode of the television series *Cybill* (1996). He featured in the 2009 documentary series *30 for 30*.

Morrison died on 1 September 2013 in Omaha, Nebraska, aged 44.
