## Biography

Tomohiro Hirata is a Japanese anime director, animator and character designer. He began working in key animation on titles including *Project A-Ko* (1986) and provided character designs for *The Irresponsible Captain Tylor* (1993). He made his directorial debut with the series *Peace Maker Kurogane* (2003–2004).

Hirata directed *Trinity Blood* (2005), for which he also served as series composer, and contributed episode direction and storyboards to *Haikyu!!* (2014). He is married to animator and character designer Atsuko Nakajima, with whom he collaborated on *Trinity Blood*.
