## Biography

Tony Burgess is a British writer, actor and stand-up comedian based in Manchester. He wrote additional material for the first two series of the BBC Three sitcom *Ideal* (2005–2006) and created and wrote the seven-part BBC sitcom *The Visit* (2007).

As an actor he played Troy, the brother of the central character, in *Ideal* across seven series (2005–2011). He has also written for other comedy programmes including *The 11 O'Clock Show*, *Paul and Pauline Calf's Cheese and Ham Sandwich* and *John Bishop's Britain*, and contributed additional material to Steve Coogan projects. His stage plays have been performed at the Royal Exchange Studio Theatre in Manchester.
