## Biography

Tony Ching Siu-tung (also credited as Ching Siu-tung or Cheng Hsiao-tung) is a Hong Kong film director, action choreographer, actor and producer. He made his directorial debut with the wuxia film *Duel to the Death* (1982).

He is best known for directing the supernatural fantasy *A Chinese Ghost Story* (1987), produced by Tsui Hark, and its sequels *A Chinese Ghost Story II* (1990) and *A Chinese Ghost Story III* (1991). He also co-directed the *Swordsman* series and has worked extensively as an action choreographer on films including *Shaolin Soccer* (2001) and *Hero* (2002).

Born in Hong Kong on 31 October 1953, Ching trained for seven years at the Eastern Drama Academy and is the son of Shaw Brothers director Cheng Kang.
