## Biography

Anthony Denison, also credited as Tony Denison and Anthony John Denison, is an American actor. Born Anthony John Sarrero on 20 September 1949 in Harlem, New York, he began his career in theatre before moving into television and film in the early 1980s.

He is best known for playing Lieutenant Andy Flynn in the TNT series *The Closer* (2005–2012) and its spin-off *Major Crimes* (2012–2018). Earlier, he gained recognition as mob boss Ray Luca in the NBC drama *Crime Story* (1986–1988). Other notable television roles include Aldo Burrows in *Prison Break* (2005), Victor Halliwell in *Charmed* (1998), and guest appearances in series such as *Criminal Minds*, *Sons of Anarchy*, *Castle* and *All Rise*.

Denison has received a Prism Award for Outstanding Performance in a Drama Series and five Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for ensemble work in *The Closer*.
